About

Willow Woods Equine Sanctuary & Farm was established by Michelle Farmer in 2022 to help rehabilitate and save horses located in kill pens across the U.S.

Michelle has dedicated her life to the mission of rescuing these horses from slaughter. The organization currently houses several different breeds of horses, and Willow Woods Equine Sanctuary & Farm is helping to rehabilitate them both physically and mentally. We are helping these beautiful animals learn to trust again, one horse at a time.

Willow Woods Equine Sanctuary & Farm offers visitors and volunteers riding lessons, which help support and care for the horses. The organization’s long-term goal is to renovate the barn and add a store, with all funds going to support the horses and their well-being. We are working on building an education center, which will teach both children and adults about the care of horses.

Willow Woods Equine Sanctuary is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) facility. We are completely volunteer-run and donation-funded. The organization offers different levels of sponsorship for donors to allow interaction with the horses as well as contribution to their care. Willow Woods Equine Sanctuary & Farm is a safe place for the horses to continue their physical and mental rehabilitation.
